Abstract :
We report, what is to our knowledge, the longest unregenerated reach achieved for a 10-Gb/s intensity modulated direct detection system on standard dispersion fiber with a laser/electroabsorption modulator and no optical dispersion compensation. The total amount of chromatic dispersion compensated with the proposed scheme is 17 245 ps/nm.
