Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new eddy-current testing system for subsurface crack detection based on giant magneto resistive (GMR) sensors. The optimized probes having small dimensions and high sensitivity to low magnetic fields enhances the spatial resolution of an ECT system. Experimental results of different frequencies and different liftoff distance are presented.
