Abstract :
The use of rails as an earth connection device for overhead power line masts without interfering with the track circuit operation is discussed. Earth connection through impedance bonds, as well as direct earth connection on the rails, are investigated. Mathematical models of earthed track circuits are proposed. Computations are carried out, and standard values of acceptable earth resistances are given
