Abstract :
Significantly faster low-cost navigation systems could be on the horizon with the first real-time implementation of a 3D reduced inertial sensors system/global positioning system (RISS/GPS) navigation algorithm on a real-time embedded system. A team from Queen¿s University and the Royal Military College in Canada used a mixture particle filter approach to enhance the performance and reduce the computational time to provide a navigation solution suitable for a variety of land vehicles.
