Abstract :
A two-year campaign of point rainfall rate and rain attenuation measurements was performed in six terrestrial line-of-sight links operating at 15 and 18 GHz in southeastern Brazil. Results indicate that the attenuation due to rain in terrestrial links in tropical regions is underestimated by existing prediction methods based on experimental data from temperate climates
