Abstract :
Results and analyses of long-term cantilever strength tests on composite line-post insulators are presented. The concept of the damage limit is developed. In service, composite line-post insulators are subjected to complex loading. Mathematical and experimental results show good agreement, allowing presentation of multiple load application curves for line-post insulators with or without brace. Results on time-load characteristics and combined loading are presented and discussed
