Abstract
The object of this paper is to place before members of the Institution observations made during a trip to the United States upon some of the practices adopted in line construction work. The treatment is mainly descriptive and, in general, no attempt is made to estimate the advantages or disadvantages of American telephone methods in comparison with those adopted in other countries.
