Charts for Regulation of Transformers

To ascertain the regulation¿an essential characteristic of a transformer¿when the ohmic and reactive drops respectively are given involves a good deal of calculation. In the first part of the paper, charts are presented, from which the results can easily be read. In the seond part a simple ¿chord diagram¿ is developed, which is well suited for approximate estimates. Both methods are based upon the formula recommended by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and permit a clear visualization of the relations implied.
