Researchers from Aalto University in Finland have presented the first experimental demonstration of a dielectric method for hiding objects from electromagnetic fields, or `cloaking`. Their method relies on simple, conventional dielectric materials, as opposed to complex metamaterials, which makes it practical and straightforward to implement.
