Abstract :
A real-time optical-path supervisory scheme for optical cross-connects (OXCs) is demonstrated with pilot tones as channel IDs. Routing errors can be detected by comparing the channel ID with the stored routing information. Gain-saturated erbium-doped fibre amplifiers are used for ID removal
