Research on the classification of spare parts for supplier management

Supplier management is an important link for efficient spare parts supply system. A supplier management and decision-making model is presented in this paper. First, characteristics of various types of spare parts are analyzed and are divided into four categories, and second supplier is classified according to spare parts it provides, at last some supplier management strategies suitable for the production of the actual situation are proposed for the single class suppliers and complex class suppliers.
