Impact of core enterprise leadership style on network governance

Technological innovation network plays a critical part in the innovation activities. This study aims at investigating the impacts of core enterprise leadership pattern on network governance outcome and their relationships. This study reviews and reflects on research argument in leadership style and governance performance. This study conducts an empirical analysis of their relationships by resorting to a regression model, the data from the sectors with a strong R&D teamwork strength, and the calculation software SPSS17.0. The major findings are that moderate core enterprise transformational leadership style behavior and the forced governance pattern conducive to enhancing the performance of network governance, and core enterprise transactional leadership style and consultative governance can be advantageous to network governance. The study concludes with practical implications, amid which the most significant one is core enterprises should blend various leadership styles based on the enterprise´s specific attributes in the governing activity. The results are helpful to further explore the factors influencing the formation of network routines, and enhance the enterprise cooperation performance in technology innovation network, and of great importance to understand innovation cooperating behaviors of firms in-depth.
