Abstract :
Computer systems that compile a software description of a circuit into a finished IC are known as silicon compilers. The commercial exploitation of silicon compilation is an almost exclusively American phenomenon, with the Edinburgh-based Lattice Logic representing the only UK company active in this developing, if esoteric, market. Our staff writer has been taking a look at this unusual company and talking to two of its founders
