Abstract :
The authors demonstrate, for the first time, good quality transmission of a 2.488 Gbit/s signal by a 1.55 μm complex-coupled DFB laser at 85°C. The laser oscillates in a DFB mode with a side-mode suppression ratio of greater than 43 dB, the slope efficiency varies from 0.36 to 0.22 in the temperature range 2O-90°C; 5 mW is obtained at 90°C with a driving current of <50 mA
