Abstract :
Front cover: The IEEE AESS Pioneer Award for 2009 has been awarded to Yakov D. Shirman For the independent discovery of matched filtering, adaptive filtering, and high- resolution pulse compression for an entire generation of Russian and Ukranian radars. Formal presentation will take place at the 2009 International Radar Conference Bordeaux, France, this month.
