Abstract
A simple design of a 2-to-1 photonic data selector is proposed and has been experimentally demonstrated at 40 Gbit/s, employing four-wave mixing and cross-gain modulation in two parallel semiconductor optical amplifiers. All output signals with over 10 dB extinction ratios, clear and wide open eyes, are obtained without additional input.
