Abstract
The IEEE Communications Society\´s Lifetime Recognition Award, presented on rare occasions to individuals who have made particularly important contributions to both technical fields and the Society\´s activities, was presented on May 14, 2010 to Paul E. Green, Jr. The award is conferred by special vote of the Society\´s Board of Governors. Past President Steve Weinstein and past IEEE Region 8 Awards Chair Hans Peek made the presentation of the award, represented by a crystal bowl, to Dr. Green in his home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The inscription on the base reads: "To Paul Green, for a lifetime of great contributions, with love and respect from your colleagues in the IEEE Communications Society."
