The UK car industry. Meeting the challenge head-on

If any industry in the 1970s typified the national situation it was the car industry, and in particular the national giant then named British Leyland. A glance at today´s new-car sales figures shows the end product of a massive reorganisation which has involved updating the whole manufacturing process.
