Abstract
The electromagnetic field expressions of an elevated electric dipole above a flat perfectly conducting ground plane are presented. It is shown that surface-based measurements at a specified location, of the vertical electric field and the horizontal magnetic fields permit a unique determination of the strength and orientation of the dipole
