Abstract :
The aim The purpose of the project was to build a spirit level which has two advantages over the conventional, simple, bubbletype device: (a) The user should not have to be above, or even necessarily close to, the level to be able to read it. Indeed it should be possible to have an entirely remote readout. (b) The device should tell the user not only whether a surface is level, but also by precisely how many degrees it is out of level.
