Abstract
In order to analyze the performance of mean level CFAR detector in various environments overall, the basic principles of the conventional cell-averaging (CA), greatest-of (GO) and smallest-of (SO) constant false rate (CFAR) detectors are analyzed firstly. Then the analytical results of performance are presented for these mean level CFAR detectors in multiple targets background with one or more interfering targets. Lastly the accuracy of the derived formula is verified according to compare with the simulation result. Furthermore, a comparison of the performance of the recently proposed CFAR detectors is presented to demonstrate the detectability loss of the detectors in homogeneous and non-homogeneous background.
