Abstract :
A new algorithm that may be used for the solution of three-phase (or unsymmetrical) power flow analyses of both power transmission or distribution systems under unsymmetrical operating conditions and power quality problems, is presented. This technique is both new and robust, and is developed on the basis of the extension of the Newton-Raphson method and its Jacobian in a complex form, that gives the solutions in a whole phasor format. A comparative example is presented to illustrate the convergence characteristics of the proposed numerical method
