Abstract
The great rush to get connected created the first wave of Internet growth, with the Net now an integral part of life for businesses and individuals everywhere. Now the second wave of the Internet is coming, based on technology for managing the relationships among the myriad people, applications, services, and devices connected to the Net. This technology promises a new face for the network: not a technical interface but human faces as different as the Internet´s vast and rapidly growing population of users
