Abstract :
The design of an unbalanced Wheatstone bridge is presented. The bridge measures the reflection coefficient of unknown impedances relative to an arbitrary reference level. A experimental unit was designed for a 25-Ω reference level. It measured high isolation with a 25-Ω load; the magnitude of the reflection coefficient with a short-circuit load differed from that with an open-circuit load by less than 0.1 dB.
