Abstract :
The accuracy of the E.D. Sunde (1968) approximation for the transmission-line parameters of overhead wires is improved by adding an exponential term. Errors in the real and imaginary parts are contained within 1.5%. The modified approximation can easily be implemented in computer-aided analysis and design as well as in pocket-calculator calculations
