Abstract :
A new algorithm is presented suitable for measurement of large-phase-modulation magnitudes using data from a spectrum analyser. Large-phase-modulation measurements were carried out on piezoelectric-cylinder fibre-optic phase modulators revealing nonlinearity and hysteresis in the response of the device.
