Abstract :
The impact of automation and novel manufacturing technologies on the competitive ability of firms can clearly be substantial. But there is little guidance for firms concerning how to effectively incorporate these technologies into their marketing and manufacturing strategies. An actual case study of one firm´s successful manufacturing technology experience is presented and the lessons learned for guidance in these areas are synthesized. In the process, other issues involving strategy, justification, and implementation are also identified
