Abstract
This work presents a cognitive framework and associated platform for Smart Energy Management of Wireless Technologies and mobile applications (ARTEMIS), targeting the reduction of the energy consumption that derives from wireless technologies and applications, by considering a huge set of different aspects and actors, i.e. starting from the infrastructure and the network operator, and ending at the application part and the service provider as well as the end-user. In particular, ARTEMIS includes cognitive technologies, which penetrate four (4) levels: the Application Level, the System Level, the Network Level and the Device Level. A set of different use cases have been described, aiming to infer conclusions about all the possible aspects of the ARTEMIS platform that should be covered, such as functionality, usability, reliability, performance and supportability, across the platform´s individual components. Further to that, the use cases can contribute to the illustration of the benefits of ARTEMIS and engage platform´s stakeholders, as well as to ensure broad applicability of ARTEMIS concepts.
