Abstract :
The work presented here concentrates on target localization with range measurements under imperfect detection, where the localization Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) is derived. We integrate the bandwidth into the CRLB and show that the Fisher information loss ratio due to imperfect detection is, perhaps surprisingly, bandwidth invariant. More expected but hitherto unproven, we show, analytically, that the information loss ratio is less than the probability of detection.
