Abstract :
A rigorous theory is applied to the analysis of the scale mode in D-shaped microhole fibres. Based on this theory, a novel kind of in-line polariser composed of microhole fibres and made using tapered techniques has been analysed and formed. The properties of the new polariser have been demonstrated theoretically and experimentally
