Abstract :
This issue of Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computing Engineering is a little different from the traditional issues. The subject of the issue is future telecommunications services. The focus for this issue is not on one area of technology or one methodology. Instead, this issue gives an overview of the directions in which telecommunications technologies and services are moving. The papers give a high level description of some of the upcoming technologies, and then proceed to outline the types of services and/or the methods of implementation, testing and trialing which are currently underway in an effort to produce the services.
