Abstract :
The paper describes an experimental study and a computational method of estimating the q-u corona characteristics of single and bundle conductors for conductor-plane and conductor-conductor gaps under lightning impulse voltages. Measurements were performed for individual subconductors in a bundle which provided data necessary for an estimation of charge distribution and electric field strength in the streamer zones. A method for calculating q-u curves for any arbitrary bundle configuration for conductor-plane and conductor-conductor gaps is described
