Abstract :
Extracting hand regions is the central concern in a vision based approach to hand gesture recognition. The authors describe how to incorporate the tracking facility in the process of extracting a hand region. The proposed method first detects possible candidate regions by using a hand model: it then selects one of the detected regions from a tracking perspective
