Abstract :
A few visionary microwave engineers in the United States realized they need an organization to promote microwave-related activities and forums to exchange their technical developments. That is how the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) was formed about 58 years ago. The Society was undeniably American by birth. However, it grew, matured, and fl ourished to become a truly international society by evolution. The American birth is an honor that must always be acknowledged, and the international role is a duty that must be fulfilled.
