Abstract :
Inertia drivers, for a power plant are High Tension drives (HT Drives) / Drive turbines. Various machine parameters are acquired into the DCS (Distributed Control System)/PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for monitoring / interlock / protection. Winding and Bearing temperature signals are acquired into the DCS/PLC as RTD signals. Higher plant uptime with reduced spurious tripping of HT Drives is a matter of significance.
