Abstract :
The paper deals with the design and operation of an experimental hybrid cannon consisting of a 60 mm bore gas cannon using standard propellant and a traveling-wave induction accelerator. The projectile, consisting of an aluminum cylinder weighing 120 grams, is initially brought up to a speed of 600 m/s in the gas cannon. The pulsed-power stage is designed to accelerate the projectile further to a velocity of 700 m/s
