Abstract
The following inferences are obtained, based on a complete random sample from a gamma distribution with unknown shape and scale parameters: a median unbiased point estimator, and optimum s-confidence bounds and intervals, for the shape parameter; the uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator, and a conservative lower s-confidence bound, for reliability. Illustrative computations and comparisons with competing techniques are presented.
