Sections and branches

The December meeting of the Baltimore Section was postponed in order that the members of the Section could hold a joint meeting with the engineering section of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in its Sixtieth Convention, which was held in Baltimore. An invitation was extended to the members of the Washington Section to take part in the meeting, some of whom attended. The joint meeting took place on December 30, 1908. The evening was devoted to a paper by Dr. J. B. Whitehead, entitled “The Electrical Operation of Steam Railroads.”
