  • Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the impacts of high penetration of grid-connected wind farm of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) type on the small signal stability of power systems with wake effect taken into account. Firstly, the modeling of PMSG as well as its converters is described. The modeling of wind farm wake effect and the corresponding wind farm equivalent model are given in detail. Then, the process of deducing the system state matrix is introduced. Finally, the simulations with multiple scenarios consideration are carried out on the IEEE 3-generator-9-bus test system as benchmark to reveal the impacts of wake effect on small signal stability.
