Abstract :
This paper investigates a new methodology which, considering the technical and economic uncertainties, performs a more comprehensive and realistic analysis of the complex business scenario involving the Energy Efficiency Projects in Brazil. The methodology is based on intelligent techniques to optimize diagnostic and economic evaluation of Energy Efficiency Projects Managed by Demand Side (DSM), applied to the power electric sector in Brazil. The methodology is applied in an Energy Efficiency Project for the end use o fair conditioning in a consumer unit of the commercial category, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro and connected to the distribution system at medium voltage (13.8 kV). The results revealed that from the application of genetic algorithms in energy diagnoses optimization were able to build subprojects originated from a larger project, maintaining or even widening the Cost vs. Benefit Value (CBV). And, by contributing to the viability of alternative optimal designs that encourage the implementation of Energy Efficiency Projects in Brazil.
