Abstract
The authors suggest that subject of electromagnetic heating remains relatively neglected in higher educational courses within the UK, even though British industry´s adoption of electroheat techniques is increasing. They analyse an abstraction from reality to emphasise the basic principles of electromagnetic heating. The approach described could be assimilated easily into many engineering courses.
