Abstract :
The topology, configuration rules, physical characteristics and communications methodology (language) of the CXBus (coaxial bus) are described. The media and tap installation, connection to appliances, range of signal levels, bandwidth allocation, information coding, and media bridging are considered. It is concluded that those who own, manage, build, maintain, or repair CATV (cable television) systems will need to gain some understanding of the CXBus as it affects their systems and customers
