Abstract
Competence will become the defining measure for redesigning future curricula in Spain, as it is becoming elsewhere in Europe. However, to achieve success, these competences will have to be valid, reliable, and fully transportable among Europe´s institutions of higher education, a goal that has proved elusive to date.
