Abstract :
A new handy periodical inspection method is introduced in connection with the problem that it takes long time and frequent wiring to accomplish traditional periodic inspection of 500 kV transmission line protection devices. The automatic test strategy of new handy periodical inspection method is analyzed according to typical configurations of 500 kV transmission line protection. An automatic test template is also developed independently with a well-known relay protection testing platform, which is applied to periodical inspection of several 500 kV transmission line protections in Foshan Power Supply Bureau. Application shows that the handy technique is valuable to be widely popularized for reducing the inadvertent mal-operation and improving the efficiency of periodical inspection.
