Abstract :
The paper discusses the problem of tracking multiple targets from noisy measurement data. One possible solution, a branching or track splitting algorithm, is described in detail, and it is shown how the multiple tracking filters required can be distributed on parallel processors. Simulation results are given for specific scenarios obtained using both a transputer network and several Sun workstations. The paper concludes by discussing the merits of the parallel-processing procedures used.
