Abstract
The message transfer, telephone user, and integrated services digital network (ISDN) user parts of CCITT Signaling System No.7 (SS7) are described. The introduction of SS7 to provide control of international circuits is described. The intent is to provide a perspective on the advantages of using common channel signaling for ISDN.<>
