Abstract :
A new block demodulation (NBD) of MDPSK with low complexity is proposed. The error patterns of conventional differential detection (CDD) are analysed, and the decisions of CDD and the knowledge of error patterns are employed to reduce the complexity of optimum block demodulation (OBD). The complexity of NBD increases in a roughly linear fashion with block length N, while OBD increases exponentially with N. Simulations show almost the same performance
