Abstract :
Crisis Management is a major concern for today´s tourism industry. Preventive measures for natural or human induced disasters have been capturing attention by government and private sectors. Smaller scale incidents, deadly or not, can also contribute inconvenience for tourists. During the occurrence of the crisis, and before its restoration, supply chain does play a critical role. Properly trained salvage people, volunteers, food, equipment, energy, money, information need to be well coordinated and dispatched logistically, before, during, and after the recovery of the incident. This research intends to assess the gap for the crisis management capability for tourism industry, from the supply chain management perspective. A supply chain model for tourism crisis management (SCM-TCM) will be the major delivery and contribution.
