Abstract :
A 2.4 Gbit/s 135 km penalty-free conventional fibre transmission experiment was successfully performed with an ultralow modulation voltage of 0.98 V for an InGaAsP electroabsorption modulator/ lambda /4-shifted DFB laser integrated light source.
