Abstract :
The paper opens with a brief comparison between two basic types of deflector coil, and gives performance figures which show that the type employing a slotted core is considerably more efficient for frame scanning. Transformer coupling is analysed, and it is recommended that the lowest value of primary inductance should be that which corresponds to zero rate of change of anode current at the beginning of the scan. In the concluding Section several linearizing circuits and some relevant points of design are described.
